Cars with alternative engines became became a zest at automobile show in Geneva
This year Geneva automobile show exhibited not only ordinary cars of premium class, but a row of models, equipped with alternative engines. Every year Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Peugeot and many other manufacturers demonstrate at automobile show in Geneva their new products. This year on the exhibition showroom were presented cars with electric engines, particularly Audi A1.
"Now we offer to our clients a "Smart” model with electric gear. It is concerning models of A-class as well. But it is still small series. Apparently, we will see a large lot of electromobiles by 2011-2012. But we have to make them inexpensive. It is obvious that such cars are attractive enough", said Deither Zetshe, the chairman of the board of Daimler company.
Many visitors also gathered around showrooms of Italian manufacturers. Lancia presented a new model in high-cost class – “Delta", which is positioning as an “alternate” model within cars of "golden class".
Porsche also presented a new two-seater car with two engines – petrol and electric.
