The Government has approved regulations for consumer electronics energy labeling
Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved regulations concerning consumer electronics energy labeling. This document asserts all requirements for proper informational support of consumers including informing about energy efficiency of certain types of electronics. Regulations concern technics with high power consumption, such as refrigerators, laundry washers, water heaters, electric ovens, air conditioners and lighting units. From now, these devices should be sold with energy labels that contain general description of device, test certificate and information about power consumption.
In addition, by this decree, all consumer electronics manufacturers and suppliers are obliged to grant energy labels for free. By the time of demonstrating devices to the consumers, shop assistants have to put an energy label on a visible place – on devise itself or at its package.
Responsibility for adoption of this Government decree and control for its compliance was entrusted to NAER.
